Making Outbound Calls

How to initiate phone calls through your AI employee, preview mode, confirmation flow, and call scripts.

Initiating a Call

To make a call, simply tell your AI employee who you want to call and what the call is about. You can provide a phone number directly or reference a contact name — the AI will look up the number from your CRM. Before placing the call, the AI presents a preview showing the phone number, contact name (if known), and a summary of the call's purpose. You must approve the call with /approve before it is placed.

Making a business call

Initiate a call to a CRM contact.

You say:
Call Mike at BuildRight Construction to confirm the project start date.
Sarudo responds:
Ready to place a call. Contact: Mike Thompson, BuildRight Construction. Phone: (312) 555-0198. Purpose: Confirm project start date. I'll mention the April 28th date from your latest proposal and ask for confirmation. Reply /approve to place the call or let me know if you'd like to adjust the talking points.

Call Scripts & Talking Points

Before each call, your AI employee prepares talking points based on your instructions and CRM data. You can provide detailed scripts for the AI to follow, or let it generate talking points from context. The AI adapts during the call based on the other person's responses — it does not rigidly follow a script but uses the talking points as a guide. After the call, it reports what was discussed and any outcomes.

ℹ️

For important calls, provide detailed talking points including specific numbers, dates, and commitments you want to communicate. The AI will incorporate them naturally into the conversation.

Preview and Confirmation

Every call goes through a preview and confirmation step. The AI shows you exactly who it will call, from which number, and what it plans to discuss. This is your chance to adjust the approach, add talking points, or cancel the call entirely. Like email approval, calls are never placed without your explicit /approve command. This prevents accidental calls and ensures you are always in control of outbound communications.

Call Duration & Limits

There are no hard limits on call duration imposed by Sarudo. Calls can last as long as needed for the conversation to reach its natural conclusion. However, Twilio charges are per-minute, so longer calls will incur higher costs. The AI is designed to be efficient and professional on calls, covering the necessary points without unnecessary padding. Typical business calls through Sarudo last between 3 and 10 minutes.
